Norumbega Blue Story

Hundreds of years ago, explorers came to the New World searching for the legendary region of Norumbego – a fabled city of gold, silver and pearls. Although this Algonquin Indian name, meaning "quiet place between the rapids," was merely a mythical paradise, its vision of surpassing beauty aptly describes the area we know today as Downeast Maine.

Today Maine is the world's largest producer of wild blueberries – a fruit which has grown wild here for thousands of years. In fact, Native Americans used wild blueberries to flavor their food, provide valuable nutrition, and treat illness. Now research is finding wild blueberries to have more healthful antioxidants per serving than any other natural food.

So enjoy our all-natural Norumbega Blueberry Vinaigrette, made from wild Downeast Maine blueberries and capture the flavor of a legendary land!
